Data Community Fund is hiring a Head of Marketing to be responsible for all marketing efforts across our fast growing firm. We’re a bold new venture firm backed by top funds such as Sequoia, Foundation, Bain Capital Ventures & AngelList and we’re completely rethinking venture from the “outside in” by building a unique community-oriented venture platform in the B2B data world.

Data technologies are rapidly changing the world, and our community, Data Council, is at the epicenter of the hottest technical advancements and research in data infrastructure, machine learning, computer vision and artificial intelligence. These technologies are literally transforming industries while simultaneously creating new opportunities and defining our future.

We give technical founders launching data-oriented startups an unfair advantage to succeed. Via our immensely popular IRL conference series, we provide the natural platform for technical founders to find early design partners & customers, hire technical talent, and network with other founders who have been through similar early stage challenges.

The Data Council network is our not-so-secret weapon — so far we’ve quietly backed more than 40 top B2B data & infrastructure startups such as Great Expectations, EraDB, Hex, Hightouch, Acryl Data (Datahub), Grid, Elementl (Dagster), Truera, Decodable, Aquarium, Onehouse (Hudi), Startree (Pinot), Watchful and many others.

The Role

The Head of Marketing is responsible to scale our marketing strategy across Data Council and our community. You will work with our leadership team to design and execute growth strategies that will continue to expand the brand and influence of Data Council as the top destination for technical data professionals and startups building the next generation of data technology.

We think of Data Council as the media & community brand that enables us to reach data professionals at scale, and you will play a key role in expanding our content strategy & distribution to meet the needs of technical professionals in the rapidly growing data & machine learning ecosystem.

We believe that our core differentiation lies in how we build our platform and the community around it. We started with Data Council first and are building out our fund brand from there. This gives us a distinctly first-principles approach to building a new kind of venture fund, and you’ll experience it directly when building the brand and designing the campaigns that are direct manifestations of our core values of bringing the broader data ecosystem together.
